LØREN Teams Up with 88rising’s 1999 Write The Future, Setting This Comeback Ablaze with “Gasoline”
South Korean rock singer-songwriter and musician LØREN is back with a new single titled, “Gasoline” set to release globally this Friday, June 28 at 12 A.M. EST (June 27 at 9 P.M. PST). The multi-instrumentalist is under THEBLACKLABEL and 88rising, with songwriting credits for all of his music and some well-known artists’ songs for K-Pop powerhouse, BLACKPINK. LØREN is collaborating with 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE, a collective of artists (with a set lineup of artists and guest appearances on tracks) created by 88rising, mixing old with new sounds and energy.
Back in August of 2023, we featured LØREN on our “On The Rise: 10 Artists We Are Featuring For August 2023” list as he is an artist you will want to listen to, creating songs that take fans back to the nostalgic era of rock music in the early 90s to early 2000s. It has been a year since the exciting release of his first EP, Put Up a Fight. After this release, many events were scheduled, including significant appearances at Coachella and Head in the Clouds in New York and Los Angeles. Despite what feels like a long year for his fans eagerly awaiting his new music, LØREN assured his fans via Instagram — as he recently opened a broadcast channel on Instagram — that he has been productive in the studio. He has been on a rollercoaster ride performing at big-name festivals, and it’s not over, this is just the beginning.
Sharing the song’s first announcement on Instagram, LØREN presented an image of a CD that had illustrations of the song title and his name engulfed in flames, including a gas tank, and 1999 written on it too. The CD’s aesthetic mirrors the use of a CD alongside 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE’s other releases, emphasizing this collaboration, while ensuring each one fits each artist’s style and song release.
As we get closer to the song’s release, LØREN has posted teasers for “Gasoline” including a black and white image photographed by Khan Jae Hun of LØREN’s hand drenched in what would look like gasoline smearing across the screen. Many fans in the comments were guessing the liquid substance to be paint. Is it paint? I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out. In a message via Instagram to his fans, he said he had a fun time shooting this with Khan and “the boys” — probably referencing his bandmates.
The anticipation grows, as LØREN said via Instagram, that he is excited and happy about this song. We can’t wait to rock out to LØREN’s new song, “Gasoline,” out this Friday!
