G-Dragon Returns with New Single “Home Sweet Home” Featuring Bandmates Daesung & Taeyang
K-Pop is seeing one of the most stunning comebacks this year. G-Dragon, aka Kwon Ji Young, is finally making a comeback after several years of hiatus. The “King of K-Pop” took to his social media to tease fans about new music in October. Since then, he has steadily made an appearance in public and on talk shows to talk about his music journey and upcoming music releases.

He first released the track “POWER” on October 31, 2024, and the song steadily rose up to global music charts. It only goes to show how eagerly G-Dragon’s fans were waiting for him. The song was the first after a seven-year-long hiatus.
Catching up to the success of “POWER,” G-Dragon released a new single “Home Sweet Home” on November 22, 2024. The song features his BIGBANG bandmates Daesung and Taeyang. The song employs the pop-rock genre and talks about reconnecting and ‘coming back home.’ The song hits the listeners, especially G-Dragon’s fans, with a wave of nostalgia as the singer reminds them of his promise to never leave them.
Following the release of “Home Sweet Home,” G-Dragon also ended the hiatus of his live performance as he took the stage at the 2024 MAMA Awards in Osaka, Japan. He was last seen on the MAMA stage nine years ago for his performance of “Good Boy” and “Fantastic Baby” with Taeyang.
In addition to being a prolific musician, G-Dragon has also expanded his artistry towards arts and culture. He was named in ArtNet’s Top 200 Art Collectors list in 2019 and was part of Frieze Seoul’s “Now & Next” artist series last year. In 2024, he is creating a perfume in collaboration with French perfumer Frédéric Malle. He has also launched JUSPEACE, a charity foundation to combat drug abuse in South Korea.
