CHUNG HA Embodies the Christmas Spirit in New Digital Single
For her first release in four months, soloist CHUNG HA has dropped a special Christmas themed single album, [Christmas Promise]. Containing two songs, this release brings a feeling of warmth, excitement, and fun to this holiday season. Christmas themed songs are not uncommon from K-Pop artists, and CHUNG HA can now be added to any must-play Christmas playlist with this digital single release. The music video for the title song “Sleigh” released with the drop of the album, and teases a second music video for the other track “There Goes Santa Claus!” at the end.

Sung entirely in English, the title track “Sleigh” is the perfect hot girl Christmas anthem. The lyrics consist of holiday themed word play: “You say I'm a gift / I say yeah, I know / I sleigh / Head to mistletoe” and “You fa-la-la-la-love me” as examples. The melody is an upbeat R&B track with a spattering of sleigh bells that works perfectly for a Christmas track, and CHUNG HA sings in a sweet, happy tone, showing off a different side to her vocal color compared to some of the releases she has put out earlier this year. In the music video, we watch CHUNG HA prepare for a holiday party, singing to herself as she runs around her house getting ready and takes cute selfies with her dog. At the very end, various people are shown to be getting on a bus with the melody to “There Goes Santa Claus!” playing in the background.
“There Goes Santa Claus!” is a track that embodies the magical feeling of Christmas and the holiday season. Also all in English, CHUNG HA sings about the typical sights, sounds, and smells of the holidays. As the title suggests, she spends the pre-chorus and chorus singing about the sighting of Santa Claus with wonder and good spirit. “You know winter's here when he's coming to town / And the Christmas cheer will be hanging around / We've been waiting patiently for him to arrive / Santa always knows if you've been naughty or nice.” The bright bells and upbeat rhythm gives this track a sophisticated, modern carol-like feel, making it an immediate classic. Fans are hopeful that CHUNGA HA will release a music video for this track later this month.
