EVNNE Debuts and Releases 1st Mini-Album, ‘Target: ME’

Back in August, Jellyfish Entertainment announced the future debut of EVNNE, a group consisting of 7 former Boys Planet participants. EVNNE, which stands for “Evening’s Newest Étoiles,” is made up of members: Park Hanbin, Lee Jeonghyeon, Mun Junghyun, Park Jihoo, Yoo Seungeon, Ji Yunseo, and Keita.

On September 19, they successfully debuted and released their first-ever mini-album titled Target:ME. The mini-album consists of six songs, with “TROUBLE” being the group’s first title track. “TROUBLE” opens up the mini-album in a strong and powerful way, showcasing all of EVNNE’s shining points and conveying their “wild passion for shaking up the world.”

Up next is the West Coast hip-hop song  “ROLE MODEL”  which talks about the dreams EVNNE and their peers have for becoming role models to one another. The song was performed alongside the title track during their media debut showcase. It has an upbeat and fun choreography that not only showcases the group’s abilities together, but also as individuals.

Following that same hip-hop sound but with a more groovy synth feel to it,  “PRETTY THING” explains the feelings of falling in love at first sight. The fourth track, “YOUR TEXT,” talks about the feelings one gets as they wait to hear back from someone they love. The sound replicates the feeling, as it is less of a hip-hop vibe, and more of an acoustic-feeling R&B track.

Members Ji Yunseo and Lee Jeonghyeon were able to participate in the writing process for the track “JUKEBOX,” where they encourage listeners to always try, enjoy, and make the most of each moment, even when things might be getting tough.

Lastly, “Even More” is the group’s first-ever fan song, it’s a mid-tempo synth-pop track in which members Keita and Ji Yunseo participated in the writing. The track expresses EVNNE’s feelings and wish to embed every moment spent together in their hearts to hold forever.

Overall, fans have received EVNNE’s debut extremely well with “TROUBLE” garnering a lot of attention online for its powerful and exciting sound. Target: ME shows EVNNE’s powerful entrance to the fifth generation of K-pop. With the group’s promotion period starting, we can’t wait to see all of the amazing stages they’re going to present!
