Denise Julia Drops Hot New Single "B.A.D." Featuring P-Lo
October 27 marks Filipina R&B singer-songwriter Denise Julia’s newest single release, “B.A.D.,” featuring Filipino-American rapper P-Lo. This song serves as the lead single in her upcoming debut album.
It’s been more than a month since her latest release, and this time, the song doubles as an introduction of a glimpse of what her younger self aspired to become as a music artist and embracing herself as a person. Denise took part in writing the song and producing with Joel Tracks, who has worked with her before on one of her past singles, “bum 2 me.”
Promotional teasers began on October 9, creating excitement from her fans on social media after a snippet of the song was shared, building anticipation for the official release. The iconic dance during the chorus, choreographed by Macky Quiobe, Dom Guyot, and Denise herself, has skyrocketed amongst her fans, having them participate on TikTok.
With over 100k streams on Spotify within the first day of its release, the song has her devoted fans entering their “Denise Julia era.” The sensational track embraces their inner baddie personality, leaving a lasting impression of empowerment and confidence boost, as it pairs with the mesmerizing introduction that uplifts the listeners.
Directed by Louie Ong, the music video was released on October 28, featuring a special guest appearance by Marina Summers, a contestant from season one of Drag Race Philippines. Towards the end of the video, Denise teases her next release, “Sweet Nothings,” which fans are starting to look forward to.
