SEVENTEEN Wins First BBMA for "Top K-pop Touring Artist”
Amidst their ongoing tour, 13-member boy group SEVENTEEN—comprised of S.COUPS, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, JUN, HOSHI, WONWOO, WOOZI, THE 8, MINGYU, DK, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON and DINO—brought home their first BBMA for “Top K-pop Touring Artist.” This award comes almost a decade after their debut, showing both the longevity and success the group has had in their careers. According to Billboard Boxscore, SEVENTEEN drew approximately 552,000 fans over 18 performances between October last year and March this year, making them the highest-ranking K-Pop group on the 2024 Midyear Top Tours chart. In 2024 alone, they have attracted over 1.4 million attendees to their concerts both in-person and online.
In their acceptance speech and reflecting on their ongoing tour, the group added, “Being in the middle of our ‘RIGHT HERE’ world tour makes this award even more meaningful. We’ll take it as a reminder to keep bringing our music as close to the audience as possible.” They express their heartfelt gratitude to their fans, saying, “This wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing fans, CARATs. We try to make it up to you with good music and performances, but you always seem to find a way to surprise us with even more love.”
On top of winning the award, the group also had their debut performance on the BBMA stage with their newest title track “LOVE, MONEY, FAME (feat. DJ Khaled)” off of their 12th mini album SPILL THE FEELS. Filmed in the streets of downtown LA, SEVENTEEN brought a special vibrancy and excitement to their performance as they fed off of the energy of the thousands of fans and onlookers that danced and cheered them on as they made their way to the Santa Monica Pier, finishing the performance against a beautiful California sunset. This performance truly shows the powerhouse that is SEVENTEEN—they can turn any setting into the hottest stage.
After successful Europe and U.S. legs—including making history as the first K-Pop act to perform at Glastonbury and headline Lollapalooza Berlin—their RIGHT HERE tour is set to continue across massive stadium shows in Asia, starting with four cities in Japan this year, followed by stops in Bulacan, Singapore, Jakarta, and Bangkok in January and February 2025.
