Sakurako Ohara Celebrates Her 10th Anniversary
In 2013, Sakurako Ohara debuted as an actress in the movie Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru, where a high school student who aspired to be an actress achieved an audition to choose the heroine of a movie whose role is a vocalist. The Japanese film is famous in South Korea as well because it was remade into a TV drama series where the same role was performed by Red Velvet’s Joy.
Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru is a love story between a music producer and a vocalist of a new band. She sang the theme song as the vocalist of a band in this story, then made a solo debut in the following year. 2023 marks the 10th anniversary for her debut as an actress and 2024 as an artist.
Her greatest feature is her powerful voice. We couldn’t imagine that it’s produced from her small figure — the gap impresses new audiences.
Sakurako Ohara has various personas: singer, TV actress, and stage actress, among many others. When we try many roles, we can’t avoid prioritizing, but she doesn't. She makes a full commitment to all of her faces, and this attitude creates synergies to improve her skills for all of the aspects.
For example, she has a lot of experience as a stage actress, which enhances various factors of her performance as a singer including her voice, expression, and behavior on stage. In 2022, she sang with a full orchestra. It’s said to be quite difficult even if the singer spent a great career. Experience became confidence, and then her great presence was built.
