Rolling Quartz Brings Rock ‘N’ Roll Paradise to Los Angeles
On Saturday, May 13, Korean rock band Rolling Quartz took the stage by storm at their sold-out show at Catch One in Los Angeles, California. The band stayed true to their tour name Rock ‘N’ Roll Paradise as the crowd experienced a Korean-style rock ‘n’ roll paradise at their energetic show. The female rock band is comprised of five members all bringing their unique talents together: Arem (bassist), Iree (lead guitarist), Yeongeun (drummer), Jayoung (main vocalist), and Hyunjung (rhythm guitarist). The band is under Rolling Star Entertainment and debuted on December 30, 2020, with their song “Blaze.”
The venue quickly flooded with excited Rolling Quartz fans known as Diadem. The band attracts fans of all ages worldwide as seen in the crowds. Footsteps appear on stage as the girls head out to prepare their instruments for the show. Soon, the lights dim, and the girls begin their show with a striking energy unlike any other and Jayoung’s vocals stun the crowd. These girls put on a show just as vibrant as the colors of their hair.
Starting with tracks off their 2022 EP titled “Fighting,” Rolling Quartz had fans left and right going crazy! The band played their much-anticipated hit song, “Blaze,” all while setting the venue ablaze. They continued to play songs off their EP such as “Azalea” and “Delight.” In addition to their own music, the girls surprised their American fans with cover songs in English. The band belted out American classics such as Paramore’s “Misery Business” and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” with Jayoung hitting every note. They also treated fans with a cover of BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” and BTS’s “MIC Drop.”
Rolling Quartz entertained with fan service as they interacted with Diadem. Arem, Iree, and Hyunjung would tease fans with their instrument picks and throw them out into the crowd. Meanwhile, Jayoung immersed herself with the audience as she sang face-to-face with fans. Lucky fans in the front row enthusiastically high-fived the band members who cheerfully reciprocated. The band left a strong impression with their natural ability to keep their audience engaged and energized.
As the show continued, it was only proper for each member to receive the spotlight for solo performances with their respective instruments—they did not disappoint. When it was Yeongeun’s turn, all members kneeled for her as she passionately and powerfully played the drums. The show was filled with hair flips and exceptional rock music.
After an electrifying night filled with outstanding performances, clearly, Rolling Quartz deserves all the recognition they are getting.
