Rising Rock Band KAVE Electrifies the Stage at Incheon Pentaport Festival
Korean rock band and producer collective KAVE, short for Kings Always Have Veiled Egos, made a powerful entrance at the renowned Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, held from August 2-4, 2024. As the first band to hit the HILLSTATE stage last August 2, KAVE delivered an electrifying performance that left the crowd buzzing, setting the tone for an unforgettable day of music alongside acts like DAY6, Creepy Nuts, and JANNABI.
A Debut to Remember
KAVE, consisting of Gaho (vocals), Kekinu (drums), Jisang (guitar), Hyun (piano, keyboard), and Ownr (keyboard, DJ), is not just about live performances; they are also deeply involved in composing, songwriting, arranging, and producing their own music. "We didn’t expect such a big crowd, especially with the heat and being the first act of the day. But seeing everyone enjoying our music truly energized us," shared Gaho, during their debut performance.
A Setlist to Impress
KAVE kicked off their set with a special intro track created just for Pentaport, captivating the audience right from the start. The band then launched into fresh, reimagined versions of songs from their latest EP, Flight of Ideas, showcasing their versatility and creativity. Among the highlights was "Legend," a hybrid electronic rock anthem that delves into the battles of self-conflict, which resonated strongly with the crowd.
Flight of Ideas features seven tracks, each self-composed, arranged, and produced by the band members: “Venom,” “Legend,” “Hurricane,” “Dangerous,” “Avant,” “Crazy Crazy,” and “Die for U.” The album explores a variety of genres, blending alternative rock, dance, EDM, Afrobeat, and deep house, reflecting the band’s eclectic influences and dynamic range.
