Peach Tree Rascals Leaves Sold Out Crowd Wanting More in Santa Ana
Marking the fourth and first sold-out stop of their For You tour, the Peach Tree Rascals were ready to leave a memorable show at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California. Rising to fame with their song “Mariposa” in 2019, the music collective, Peach Tree Rascals, has become renowned for their genre-blending style. The group, composed of singer-rappers Issac Pech, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq, Joseph and Jasper Barros, as well as producer and mixer Dominic “Dom” Pizano and creative director Jorge Olazaba, has carved a unique niche in the music industry by fusing elements of hip-hop, R&B, funk, pop, and alternative rock. Their collaborative spirit and refusal to be confined into a single genre have garnered them a dedicated fanbase and widespread acclaim from Billboard and MTV.
Before Peach Tree Rascals headed on stage, rising artist Monét Ngo, known for his introspective lyrics and smooth melodies, captivated the audience with his heartfelt performance. His set, a blend of emotion and energy, created an intimate atmosphere, drawing the crowd into his musical world. Following the concept of his tour name, After School Club, Ngo transported the audience to become one of his club members as they navigated through his personal hardships and challenges, all while performing songs including fan favorites like “Ruby Sparks” and “Tarantula Queen.” Ngo’s performance was both heartfelt, comedic, and electrifying, setting a perfect tone for the headliners.
Soon enough, the lights dimmed and the instrumental to their song “End of Time” filled the venue. As the crowd began to cheer, the collective ran onto the stage instantly hooking the audience with its infectious beat and catchy lyrics. The momentum continued with "HIGHWITCHA" and "New Fumari," songs that showcased the band’s seamless blending of smooth vocals and intricate instrumentals.
The night was a musical journey through Peach Tree Rascal's diverse discography. Songs like "Things Won’t Go My Way" demonstrated their versatility, while a rendition of the songs “Violet” and “Someday" brought a dreamy, melodic vibe that had the crowd swaying. As the performance progressed, hits like "Change My Mind" and "Mango" kept the energy high. And they even performed the recently released single, “Lately I.”
As the evening was coming to an end, you could tell how much their fans wanted the concert to continue into the night as they sang along and cheered on for the group. The Peach Tree Rascals carried on with the show by performing more fan favorites like “C’est La Vie,” “Song From Hell,” and “Let U Go.” Celebrating the concert’s finale was “Mariposa,” which had the crowd singing along to each lyric, and the harmonies from both the crowd and artist filled the venue. With a fitting close to the Santa Ana stop, the audience was left in awe of the collective’s talent and energy.
Peach Tree Rascals delivered a show that was not just a concert but a shared experience. Their ability to connect with the audience, coupled with their innovative sound, made for an unforgettable night. As they continue on with their tour that is set to end in Los Angeles later this month, we cannot wait to see what is next for this gifted group of musicians.
