Love Songs to Fall in Love With, Cry Your Eyes Out To, and Everything in Between After Valentine's Day

Love is, well, …sweet, exciting, confusing, nerve wracking, time-consuming, healing, selfless, sad, hopeless, heartbreaking, and crazy. As Valentine’s Day was celebrated on February 14, we’re reminded about love and the many emotions felt when experienced or not experienced. Check out the 10 songs we chose that highlight different parts of love.

“Talk To Me (Can’t Get Enough)” by Karencici

Giving off that R&B vibe, “Talk To Me (Can’t Get Enough)” is about being infatuated with someone and telling them “Boy, it's you, I just can't get enough.” Karencici, a Chinese-American singer-songwriter born in Los Angeles who moved to Taiwan to pursue music, delivers a bilingual track that switches between Mandarin and English. The verses and chorus are predominantly in Mandarin, while the English lyrics emphasize the key emotional themes. This is a song we really can’t get enough of. It comes from her most recent album Made For You, which features 11 tracks.

“Photobooth” by Kevin Chung

Cherishing those precious moments with a loved one, wishing to freeze them in time with a photobooth picture, LA-based singer-songwriter Kevin Chung has a knack for crafting sweet love songs. His newest single “Photobooth” brings that sentiment to life, capturing the feeling of holding on to memories that define a relationship. To promote the song, Chung came up with a creative idea: he went around Koreatown, asking strangers if they'd like to do a photobooth session with him. While some declined, others said yes—including a sweet elderly couple who joined him for a memorable photo session. It's a fun and heartwarming concept that aligns perfectly with the song's message of preserving life's best moments.

“Phoenix” by Hope Tala

This song is for all of the best friends out there and the platonic love. “Phoenix” captures the deep, supportive bond between two best friends who have each other's backs no matter what. Hope Tala said on TikTok she wrote this song about her best friend. The lyrics describe the encouragement and strength they give each other during difficult times. One lyric that stands out: “You'll say, ‘Don't break, just bend.’" A sweet melody with Tala’s soft vocals, blending guitar and violins, perfectly complements the song’s heartfelt message of friendship.

“what never lived” by hannah bahng

Situationships are a situation that most of us are trying to avoid, and hannah bahng is right there with us. During her North American The Abysmal Tour, the singer-songwriter said that “situationships are stupid.” “what never lived” explores the feelings of putting more into a relationship than the other person. The lyrics reflect the hurt of thinking something is deeper than it is: “You said this was a forever thing, not a fling”—yet that person is messing with another person. “How do I mourn what never lived?” The raw emotion is evident in her lyrics but also in the music video, which visually captures the pain and frustration of unreciprocated and false feelings.

“Solo Dates” by FIG

Indie singer, Fay Liew aka FIG, embraces independence and self-love in her track “Solo Dates.” With a carefree attitude, she moves at her own pace and enjoys life on her own terms. The song is all about not waiting for anyone else to join her; she’s ready to treat herself to new experiences without the pressure of expectations or needing a partner. With its lighthearted pop melody, “Solo Dates” beautifully echoes the joy of doing things for yourself.

“Movies” by Alice Lee

Growing up watching rom-coms, I too wish to be loved like in the movies. Actress and singer Alice Lee perfectly inserts references to rom-com films from 13 Going on 30, Crazy Rich Asians, and She’s All That in the lyrics of “Movies.” She reminds us that the love we see in movies is real and out there and she declares, “Won't stop 'til I feel//What's on the big screen.” Lee also reflects on the disappointment of modern online dating blending humor and hope. The singer acknowledges the gap between real life and the fairy tale love she dreams of but still holds out hope for that kind of connection in this upbeat track.

"ข้อดีข้อเดียว (pro)” by deasy feat. FIZZIE

Thai R&B artist deasy steps away from his usual heartbreak tracks and brings a love song this Valentine’s Day with single "ข้อดีข้อเดียว (pro)” featuring rapper and labelmates FIZZIE. In this track, Deasy expresses the message of a relationship where, even though they don't have much time to meet or talk often, his love for the other person is deeper than anyone else’s. He conveys a sincere longing to be there more for the loved one, despite the challenges, making it a beautiful declaration of love. It’s an easy-to-listen pop song with a heartfelt vibe to celebrate love.

“LOVE SONGS” by MEMI

If you hate singing love songs MEMI’s ”LOVE SONGS,” is the song for you. With a rock-infused sound, the track perfectly captures the frustration and disillusionment that comes when a relationship falls apart. Known for her amazing guitar playing, MEMI delivers a raw, unapologetic message about love, declaring that love has lost its meaning. The song is an anthem for anyone who’s tired of the clichés and heartbreak, because “love hurts too much.”

“Quiet & Perfect” by Essence Martins

Desiring a deeper, more meaningful connection, British-Nigerian singer Essence Martins' song “Quiet & Perfect” captures the essence of a love that is understated yet profound. The indie-folk track has a theme of love that is quiet, sincere, and private. Martins yearns for a love that isn’t defined by grand gestures or public attention, but one that’s rooted in genuine, private moments. The lyrics, “'Cause I'll have a love who's deserving//And someone who loves me in private//And they'll make me laugh when I'm nervous//And love me to death but in silence” reflect a yearning for authenticity and tenderness, where true love is expressed in subtle, meaningful ways.

“LOVING U” by Keoni Usi

Up-and-coming artist Keoni Usi released a new single “LOVING U” this Valentine’s Day. The track is about someone who has fallen deeply in love, and the person they are in love with has such a powerful impact on them that it makes them forget everything else. “You made me forget the world.” This chill R&B song features a soothing, laid-back vibe with delicate xylophone sounds that add an ethereal touch to the beats. The smooth melodies and heartfelt lyrics perfectly capture the feeling of being so wrapped up in love that nothing else matters. It’s the kind of track that invites you to lose yourself in the moment, all while basking in the warmth of deep emotional connection.
