LE SSERAFIM Goes ‘CRAZY’ in Their 4th Mini Album
LE SSERAFIM, an anagram for “I'm Fearless,” is the first K-Pop girl group launched by Source Music under HYBE. The group dropped their highly anticipated 4th mini album, CRAZY, on August 30, 2024. Known for their fearless approach to music and performance, LE SSERAFIM — whose name is a nod to the seraphim angels with six wings — originally debuted as a sextet with Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, Hong Eun-chae and Kim Ga-ram. Following Kim Ga-ram's departure shortly after their debut, the group continues to captivate as a quintet.
LE SSERAFIM has been known for releasing chartbusters ever since their debut. Their first EP, FEARLESS, debuted at no. 1 on iTunes in 13 countries, and their second EP, ANTIFRAGILE, landed them at no. 14 on the Billboard 200 in October 2022. Their studio album, UNFORGIVEN, reached an impressive no. 6 on the Billboard Chart in May 2023. LE SSERAFIM’s first English single, “Perfect Night,” peaked at no. 18 on the Billboard Global 200, and they entered the Billboard Hot 100 with “EASY” from their 3rd Mini Album EASY. They've also made history as the first K-Pop group to perform at BlizzCon® 2023 and have been invited to perform at Coachella in April 2024 — becoming the fastest K-Pop group to achieve this honor.
CRAZY features five dynamic tracks: “Chasing Lightning,” “CRAZY,” “Pierrot,” “1-800-hot-n-fun,” and “Crazier.” Each track showcases LE SSERAFIM's eclectic style, ranging from EDM-style house beats to rock. Notably, member Huh Yun-jin steps into the role of producer for “Crazier,” marking a significant milestone for her as an artist.
The music video for “CRAZY” is eccentric yet polished, emphasizing embracing individuality in a world that often pressures people to conform. Encouraging listeners to balance inner goodness with outward boldness, the song tells listeners to "act like an angel" but "dress like crazy."
The group, known for delivering earworm syndrome, doesn’t fail this time too, celebrating femininity with “all the girls are girling girling.” The music video features a collaboration with the iconic voguing dance crew, Iconic House of Juicy Couture, highlighting the glamor and energy of voguing while reinforcing the album's message to live boldly and unapologetically.
