"i’m okay" by AleXa: A Powerful Anthem for the Struggles on Our Minds

Alternative and rising pop star AleXa has unveiled her powerful new single, “i’m okay,” a poignant track that tackles the often-overlooked subject of mental health. This release is perfectly timed to coincide with National Mental Health Awareness Month. Known for her unique and bold presence followed by emotive vocals, AleXa delivers a deeply personal song that resonates with those who listen to it and makes them see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Drawing from her own experiences, AleXa, who has been open about her bipolar disorder, crafted “i’m okay” to break the silence surrounding mental health struggles. The song serves as a compassionate and empowering message, encouraging listeners to confront stigma, fears, and society and seek hope and healing as answers. "This song is a love letter to those struggling with mental health, and it comes from a place of honesty and understanding," AleXa shares.

This track captures the struggles of mental health, living, and dealing with every day, and offers solidarity to those who feel alone in their pitfalls. The song’s emotional depth is highlighted by AleXa’s strong, assertive vocals and a music arrangement that enhances the song’s impactful message.

AleXa intends to create a sense of community and support through her music. “More often than not, when asked, ‘How are you?’ our default response is, ‘I’m okay.’ I want this song to show that it’s okay to be honest and to seek help when needed,” she explains. At 27, this young musical promise aims to inspire others to open up about their mental health and fight it.

The release impacted thousands with an unforgettable performance at the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball tour, where she made history as the first solo Korean artist to perform. During the tour, AleXa previewed “i’m okay” and another unreleased track at the time, “sick,” to enthusiastic audiences. She also performed “sick” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, showcasing her bold artistic vision.

Although mental health journeys vary for each individual, it's important to know that it's okay to not be okay or to simply say, “i’m okay.” Through this new track, thousands of voices unite with AleXa’s, conveying to the world that they struggle and that “they” are okay.
