The octet made their grand debut on June 8, 2021, with their debut EP BIPOLAR Pt.1: Prelude of Anxiety. Many may think of the group as ‘still in their rookie days’ but EPEX has come far and beyond. Their meteoric rise began with their debut title track, "Lock Down," which earned them a nomination for the top spot on SBS MTV's THE SHOW just 15 days after their debut, solidifying their status as one of the most anticipated groups of 2021.

EPEX also secured the number-one spot in album sales among K-Pop idols who debuted in 2021. These achievements are no easy feat, and have since then established the group as representatives of the fourth-generation K-Pop wave.

Subsequently, EPEX went on to release four more EPs in the last two years before making a comeback with Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2. ‘Can We Surrender?’ This EP marks the conclusion of their gripping Bipolar album series, a musical journey that commenced with their debut in 2021.

Wrapping up on the emotions of adolescent anxiety and first love that were explored through the Prelude of Anxiety and Prelude of Love series, this EP unveils dark realities the members face when they reach the end of their limits.

Composed and arranged by KZ, who has shared an association with the members since their debut, the EP consists of four tracks. The title track "FULL METAL JACKET" symbolizes EPEX's range of artistry as well as the threat of violence and loss of human life. The MV has garnered half a million views in the first 13 hours of its release.

"Surrender" talks about liberation from oppression through electronic bass and heavy drums. "Hit the Wall" is an EDM/hip-hop fusion that explores the struggles of young people to achieve their goals while facing obstacles in their path. "No Roof" is a funky bass/synth-driven song that encourages listeners to have faith in themselves. All songs on this EP exhibit high-octane energy, putting the rap line in highlight, a signature of EPEX.
