Dive into a “Delirious Summer” with Nikitaa’s Latest Pop Single

The idea of summer in our minds is when time runs a lethargic course. Things are calmer, but there is also some restless energy hovering above us. The air feels light but sprayed with what can be only be a delirious energy. Summer’s made its way into our lives and it certainly calls to have some tracks that back this airy-light feeling.

Indian-born and raised singer Nikitaa’s latest single captures this lightness of being. Their song “Delirious Summer” mirrors the slow-paced idea that the summer season is synonymous with. But, at the same time, the song speaks about a person’s change of pace in life after a great stint. To the person, it feels almost as if it is just an illusion or a dream: “The bills are paid, the house is clean, I can’t tell if I am dreaming.”

This song weaves a psychedelic tapestry of Nikitaa’s vocals with soft vocalization in the background. The acoustic and electric guitars are meshed with synth and drum beats which almost create a hypnotic trance for the listeners. “Delirious Summer” sports a heady mix of R&B and soul genres paired with Goddess Pop that Nikitaa’s artistry is synonymous with. The lyrics take a stream of consciousness approach as they narrate a story not particularly following a set path.

The concept photo also complements the laid-back joy of summer as we see Nikitaa indulging in a sugary-sweet lollipop, a candy that is truly a summer delight.

“Delirious Summer” is Nikitaa’s second release of May 2024 following “Elevator.” This is their overall fourth single of 2024 with releases like "Godless” in March and “Heaven” in February. To read more about Nikitaa’s single release of “Elevator,” read more here.
