1MX Music Festival Brings First Asian Headlining Lineup to the Budweiser Stage in Toronto


Many music festivals occur during the summer and sometimes, it’s difficult to attend them all. But don’t worry because the 1MX Music Festival is allowing festival-goers to take a little break from the summer music festival season to get ready for their debut in North America.

On September 10, MYX Global will present the 1MX Music Festival, with a talented lineup of local and international Asian artists, in Toronto, Canada at the Budweiser Stage. With performances by UMI, thuy, Justin Park, Dabin, BGYO, Ben&Ben, Guapdad 4000, DJ Tilt, DJ Jayemkayem, and DJ Hedspin, not only is the music festival making a debut in North America, but it will be the first time Asian artists will headline the Budweiser Stage.

 
 

1MX is a globally-renowned Asian music festival that celebrates Asian food and music; they will work in partnership with food vendors from the Greater Toronto Area to highlight authentic Asian food. The festival was a success in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Manila, and most recently, London. Now debuting in Toronto, it is bound to bring an exciting experience for music and food lovers. 

The festival’s lineup has a blend of emerging and well-renowned artists. Check them out:

UMI

UMI is a Japanese-American R&B singer-songwriter who captures listeners with her beautiful vocals intertwined with healing and calm melodies. 

 
 

thuy

thuy is a rising Vietnamese-American R&B singer-songwriter who creates songs her listeners can relate to. Her single “girls like me don’t cry” is loved by many.

 
 

Justin Park

Justin Park is a Los Angeles-based Korean-American R&B singer who attracts audiences with his charming voice and addictive songs. His music has been recognized by Jungkook of BTS, and he also appeared on the South Korean TV show Show Me the Money 11.

 
 

Dabin

Dabin is a Korean-Canadian JUNO-nominated music producer and DJ. With his instrumental background, he has captivated listeners and live audiences with his blend of electronic, acoustic, and dance-pop music.

 
 

BGYO

BGYO is a five-member Filipino boy group that debuted in 2021 and has become one of the most recognizable P-Pop boy bands in the Philippine music scene. 

 
 

Ben&Ben

Ben&Ben is a talented nine-member Filipino folk-pop band making waves in the Philippines and around the world with their chart-topping songs of hope, love, and positivity. 

 
 

Guapdad 4000

Guapdad 4000 is a Grammy-nominated Filipino-American rapper from Oakland, California. He has collaborated with artists like Snoop Dog and Chance the Rapper, and was a guest artist on J. Cole’s compilation album, Revenge of The Dreamers III.

 
 

DJ Tilt, DJ Jayemkayem, and DJ Hedspin

DJ Tilt, DJ Jayemkayem, and DJ Hedspin all have ties to Toronto from either living in or being born in Toronto. Performing in front of large crowds, these DJs know how to create infectious energy to hype up the stage as they mix music and DJ.
